A Huge Loss
We were notified late yesterday that a member of our unit family was among the casualties of yesterday’s plane crash in Afghanistan. Captain Brandon Cyr was a very talented Air Force pilot. His calm, pleasant demeanor along with his brilliant analytical skills made him a very valuable member of our team. We had occasional interactions and only one opportunity to sit and talk for an extended period of time, but it was easy to recognize the passion he had for his career and the potential he possessed to have a significant impact on the Air Force as a future leader. My heart hurts for his family and those who knew him much better than I did. For those who did not have the fortune to meet this incredible American, I am very sorry you will not be able to. He would have impressed the hell out of you.
3 Good Things
This was not a good day for me but as I mentioned in an earlier post, we still try to find 3 good things from our day. Here it goes:
- The chili/cheese dog from Twistee Treats – Alan and Lauren have summer jobs here – highly recommended!
- Had a nice phone call with my mom this morning.
- Jazz – enjoying the jazz mix being served by Slacker.
