I’m currently on a business trip to Madison, WI, for introductory training of Microsoft’s Power BI and I came across a used book store while I was out getting lunch. They had another copy of Leadership and Self-Deception that I can add to my office lending library, a Dave Ramsey book that I hadn’t heard of in the clearance section (I find his perspective useful and informative even if I don’t find his personality very appealing or some of his advice accurate), and a great find with The Daily Drucker – a series of daily excerpts from a variety of Peter Drucker’s books. It is common for different sectors or industries to say “We’re unique, proven models may work for some but don’t apply to us”. They’re wrong. I love that yesterday’s entry used an aviation example, this might come in handy as an employee of the US Air Force / Air National Guard. The first few sentences sound a lot like what I just read in the book Crucial Accountability, by the same people that brought us the best selling book Crucial Conversations.
