Storytellers

Posted on July 26, 2023November 15, 2025 by Philip

Christian Denominations Family Tree by Useful Charts

Posted on June 3, 2023November 15, 2025 by Philip

The YouTube channel Useful Charts is working on an 8-part series that explains how the various christian denominations have evolved over the nearly two thousand years of the Church’s existence.  I find this historical perspective very interesting.   At the time of this posting, only the first seven videos have been released.  The eighth video is due…

It All Makes Cents

Posted on April 25, 2023November 15, 2025 by Philip

April is Finance Literacy Month.   To “celebrate”, I have organized the several personal finance lesson blog posts that I created over the past couple years into a book format that can be downloaded in EPUB or PDF format. Posted on April 6, 2023November 15, 2025 by Philip

I have read several personal finance books now. This book, “Dollars and Sense”, is the next book to be discussed on the ChooseFI podcast’s book club installment.  Although I wouldn’t place it at the very top of my favorite books in this category, I did thoroughly enjoy it. It was similar to Morgan Housel’s “The Psychology of…

With Earbuds, You Get What You Pay For

Posted on April 4, 2023November 15, 2025 by Philip

I’ve tried many different Bluetooth earbuds lately that cover the price spectrum from around $10 to $250. For the most part, you get what you pay for. I’ve tried Walmart’s onn., JLab, Soundcore, Beats, and Apple brands.  On the cheapest end, I like the $10 onn. Wireless Earphones. They are comfortable with decent audio quality…

Envelope System FTW!

Posted on April 3, 2023November 15, 2025 by Philip

It takes a lot more than stuffing envelopes to get rich, but it doesn’t take much more than that and some self-discipline to get yourself out of debt (catastrophic circumstances notwithstanding). link to article

I sometimes wonder when listening to be-bop jazz why the bass player even shows up.
